After the Marching Band season in the Fall, the Joplin High School Band will function as one large Concert Band, which will have the opportunity to split into 2 Bands and/or Chamber Groups. Students are encouraged to audition for the All-District Concert Band in early November. This band will perform music literature at the appropriate skill level of the group. In the spring semester, the band will perform at the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Evaluative Festival as well as the MSHSAA District and State Solo and Ensemble Festival. Throughout the year, the band will participate in clinics, working with guest conductors, and opportunities to watch regional performances.
